On a side note, Wikis can be an effective teaching tool. Wikis promote collaboration, writing skills, and develop students' attention to their global audience. If you don't know what a Wiki is, click on the Common Craft video on Wikis in Plain English. Then, press play! How else can Wikis promote learning (especially with project-based learning).
Google Chrome is an Internet browser-like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. But, this browser has its own applications to download and keep logged into accounts. It makes it easy to keep track of all your web-based instructional tools.
Internet Browser
The Evernote application allows teachers and students to keep track of web-based readings. It is a great tool to organize important web-based documents. At the same time, you are able to share specific files with groups of people.
Productivity
GarageBand is my favorite. With this application, teachers and students can engage in podcasting, vodcasting, and digital storytelling. In addition, it is a fairly easy-to-use music production program.

Command + Shift + Y = Copy selected text to sticky (Only in Safari)
Command + Shift + 3 = Screenshot
Command + Shift + 4 = Screenshot Selected Region (Press spacebar to select which window to screenshot)
Shift + Volume Up/Down = Silent In/Decrease
Command + Drag n Drop = Aligns to grid
Basic Keyboard Commands
Command + A = Select All
Command + Q = Quit
Command + W = Closes Window in focus
Command + T = New Tab
Command + N = New Window
Command + Tab = Switch Between Open Programs
Command + S = Save
Command + V = Paste
Command + X = Cut
Command + C = Copy
Command + Shift + S = Save As
Command + Option + Esc = Force Quit Menu
Option + Shift + Command + Esc (hold for 3 seconds) = Force Quits focused application

Trackpad
2 Finger Spread/Pinch = Zoom In/Out
2 Finger Touch + Tap = Right Click/Menu
2 Finger Touch + Slide in any direction = Scrolls around or page or windows (when applicable)
3 Finger Touch + Select Area = Select/Highlight
4 Finger Touch +Slide Up = Mission Control (Shows all programs open)
Pinch with Thumb + 3 Fingers = Show Programs/Applications
Spread with Thumb + 3 Fingers = Go back to Desktop
Spread again w/Thumb + 3 Fingers = Clears everything and shows Desktop
(Fn + F 11 Does this too)
